Hand-Felted Cat Bed Made from 100% Virgin Wool – Anthracite
Hand-felted and made with great attention to detail: The Felt Basket is a spacious cat bed with a diameter of approx. 50 cm and a high rim. It is entirely handcrafted from 100% ecological sheep wool and made exclusively for us in Nepal.
The simple design, elegant anthracite colour and high-quality craftsmanship make the Felt Basket a special retreat for your cat. Thanks to its generous size, it also provides plenty of room for a large cat or two feline friends to curl up and relax together.
For additional comfort, the bed comes with a round, removable felt insert measuring approx. 50 cm in diameter and approx. 1 cm thick. It can be easily removed and cleaned separately. This also makes removing cat hair particularly easy and keeps the cat bed conveniently clean.
Felted sheep wool naturally offers many beneficial properties. It provides warmth in winter and feels pleasantly cool in summer. At the same time, wool is breathable and helps regulate temperature naturally. It is naturally antibacterial and dirt-repellent and has excellent self-cleaning properties. Wool is also gentle on skin and fur and hardly becomes statically charged.

Our Tip
Cats especially love a cosy place to relax. If the Felt Basket seems a little spacious at first, it can be wonderfully combined with our Island Lambskin. The lambskin makes the resting place even cosier and creates an especially comfortable place to feel at home in your home.
What is Wet Felting?
Wet felting uses only water and soap. The warm soapy water causes the wool to swell, opening the outer scale layer of the wool fibres. The wool is worked, pressed and shaped by hand in the soapy water. Through repeated movement, the individual wool fibres become increasingly intertwined until a firm and stable felt is created.

Care
Gently clean the Felt Basket by hand using warm water. Do not wring or rub vigorously. While still wet, carefully reshape the cat bed to its original form and leave it to air dry on a towel.
The removable insert can be cleaned separately, making it easier to remove cat hair regularly.

Für zusätzlichen Liegekomfort sorgt die runde, herausnehmbare Filzeinlage mit einem Durchmesser von ca. 50 cm und einer Stärke von ca. 1 cm. Sie kann leicht herausgenommen und separat gereinigt werden. So lassen sich auch Katzenhaare besonders einfach entfernen und das Katzenbett bleibt unkompliziert sauber.
Die gefilzte Schafwolle besitzt von Natur aus viele positive Eigenschaften. Sie wirkt im Winter wärmend und im Sommer angenehm kühlend. Gleichzeitig ist Wolle atmungsaktiv und sorgt für einen natürlichen Temperaturausgleich. Sie ist von Natur aus antibakteriell und schmutzabweisend und besitzt eine hohe Selbstreinigungskraft. Zudem ist Wolle haut- und fellfreundlich und lädt sich kaum statisch auf.

Unser Tipp
Gerade Katzen lieben es besonders kuschelig. Sollte das Felt Basket anfangs etwas großzügig wirken, lässt es sich wunderbar mit unserem Islandlammfell kombinieren. Das Fell macht den Liegeplatz noch gemütlicher und sorgt für einen besonders behaglichen Wohlfühlplatz in Ihrer Wohnung.
Was ist Nassfilzen?
Beim Nassfilzen werden ausschließlich Wasser und Seife verwendet. Durch das warme Seifenwasser quillt die Wolle auf und die oberste Schuppenschicht der Wollfasern öffnet sich. Die Wolle wird von Hand durch das Seifenwasser bewegt, gedrückt und in Form gebracht. Durch die wiederholte Bewegung verbinden sich die einzelnen Wollfasern immer dichter miteinander, bis ein fester und stabiler Filz entsteht.

Pflege
Das Felt Basket behutsam per Hand mit warmem Wasser reinigen. Nicht wringen oder stark reiben. Das Katzenbett noch im nassen Zustand vorsichtig wieder in seine ursprüngliche Form bringen und anschließend auf einem Handtuch lufttrocknen lassen.
Die herausnehmbare Einlage kann separat gereinigt werden und erleichtert dadurch die regelmäßige Entfernung von Katzenhaaren.
